Art Central and its Lead Partner, UOB, announces the return of one of Hong Kong Art Week’s cornerstone events to the Central Harbourfront. From 28 to 31 March, Art Central 2024, a project financially supported by the Mega Arts and Cultural Events Fund under the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, will once again present a sweeping array of artwork and programming from many of Asia’s most innovative galleries, as well as distinguished artists and speakers from around the globe. A must-visit destination during Hong Kong’s annual celebration of the arts, Art Central offers visitors an accessible, engaging and social experience, with this year’s programme extended to be the largest and most dynamic since its introduction in 2015.

Returning to its iconic location at the Central Harbourfront in the heart of the city’s Central Business District for the first time since 2019, Art Central will once again overlook Victoria Harbour within a pop-up architect-designed and purpose-built structure. Located a short walk from Art Basel Hong Kong and a ferry ride to West Kowloon Cultural District’s M+ Museum and the Hong Kong Palace Museum, Art Central is a must-attend Art Week event for locals and international visitors alike.

A place of discovery, the art fair will showcase emerging Asian artists alongside global artists and is set to challenge the boundaries of contemporary art and its mediums. This year’s showing of Art Central will feature over 90 participating galleries and is expected to welcome 40,000 visitors.

A new gallery sector, “NEO”, will be launched at this year’s event, which will highlight first-year exhibitors who are showing artists that are also making their debut at the fair. In addition to the exhibiting galleries, Art Central will feature an expanded offering of in-depth talks, large-scale installations, and the return of its popular dining terrace - a social highlight of Hong Kong Art Week bringing collectors, art lovers and visitors together over food and drinks. Night Central, talking place on Thursday, 28 March, is set to attract the arts-loving social set and is a key event to see-and-be-seen during Hong Kong Art Week.
